The little Rebel T3 is a fairly decent camera, especially when paired with a good lens. The EF-S 55-250 lens is known to be sharper than the EF 70-300 “kit lens” that so many like to rag on as “terrible”. Recently I attached the 55-250 lens to the T3 and proceeded to shoot a few pics of our avian neighbors. This first shot is of a vermillion flycatcher, a species that inhabits a wide variety of territory with its northern range going clear up to California on the US west coast.
A few weeks ago we took a potted plant drip catcher and affixed it to an old palm stump on the edge of the park in front of our home. The dry weather of the past several weeks had the birds searching for calm water to drink and bathe in. Here’s a common dove that’s relaxing a bit in the relatively cool water.
These next couple are of one of our wild canaries that are one of our more common song birds here in the foothills of the Andes.
